Jim Burbank
Chairman
Jim Burbank is Chairman of Saussy Burbank. He is responsible for project and product design with a keen eye toward the long term attractiveness and viability of each community. Jim has been engaged in the homebuilding industry for over 35 years, founding Saussy Burbank in 1989. He previously worked with John Crosland Company and Ryan Homes. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. An advocate for Affordable Housing, Jim chaired the board of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Housing Partnership and has served on the Town of Davidson Affordable Housing Taskforce.
Charles E. Teal
CEO
Charles E. Teal is CEO of Saussy Burbank, LLC and leads the company’s strategic direction, business development and new business pursuits. He has financed and structured hundreds of transactions during his more than 30 years of experience in the real estate development business. Previously, Charles was Chief Operating Officer at Pappas Properties, LLC and, prior to that, was Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President at Crosland. A Charlotte native, he is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Charles is a Certified Public Account and is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the N.C. Association of CPA’s. He chaired the Advisory Board of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities and is a Director of BB&T Investment. He currently serves as Chairman of the Charlotte District Council of the Urban Land Institute. Charles is also a member of the Industry Roundtable of the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Bob Zweier
President
Bob Zweier is President of Saussy Burbank. A native of northeastern Ohio, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University. Bob joined Saussy Burbank as Chief Financial Officer in 1997. A partner since 2007, he has served as the President and General Manger since 2004. Bob began his career as an analyst with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He served as Division Controller for the John Crosland Company and spent nine years as a financial executive in the textile industry prior to joining Saussy Burbank. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and a NC Real Estate Broker.
Al McNeill
Raleigh Division President
Al McNeill is the Senior Vice President of Saussy Burbank and President of the Raleigh division. Al has been with the company for nearly 20 years, serving previously as President of McNeill Burbank, the Raleigh division of Saussy Burbank. Al is a native of New Bern, NC and has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. He received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. A licensed NC Real Estate Broker and a NC General Contractor, he is a member of the Triangle Builders Guild and Green Home Builders of the Triangle. Al is an Executive Board Member of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties and a member of the Raleigh Home Builders Association.
Joe Robinsion
Raleigh Division Vice President
Joe Robinson is Vice President of the Raleigh Division of Saussy and manages the Raleigh operations. He joined the company in 1999 and has served in a wide-range of capacities in the Raleigh operation including project management, sales management, product development, construction management, land acquisition support and analysis, purchasing, estimating, operations and general management. A native of Mt. Gilead, Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of Triangle Sales and Marketing Council and National Association of Home Builders.
Joe Kirk
Vice President & General Manager Charleston Division
A second generation builder from Syracuse, New York, Joe Kirk joined the building business after leaving Army Intelligence in 1982, and has been a member of Saussy Burbank since 1993. In addition to building and closing over 1000 homes in his career, he has served as Construction Manager for both the Raleigh and Charlotte operations of Saussy Burbank. Since 2004, he has served as the Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Charleston market. During his 30-year career, he has built nine homes that won Gold Medals in the local Parade of Homes, 7 more that won Silver Medals, and in 1998 built a home that won the Best in American Living Award as the best home in the nation in its category.
Ann Gant
Vice President of Internal Operations
Ann Gant is Vice President of Internal Operations at Saussy Burbank. She has over 34 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, including 19 years with Saussy Burbank. Ann has been responsible and involved in all aspects of homebuilding operation for the company. A licensed Real Estate Broker since 1987, she is the licensed Broker-in-Charge for Saussy Burbank in North and South Carolina. Ann is also licensed as a NC General Contractor.
Jeff Cornatzer
Vice President for Construction
Jeff Cornatzer is Vice President for Construction at Saussy Burbank. He has been with the company for 22 years, working for Saussy Construction before the merger in 1989. He earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Chowan College and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Advertising from Appalachian State University.
Dottie Kirkland
Design Selections Coordinator
Dottie Kirkland is the Design Selections Coordinator at Saussy Burbank. Dottie has been in the homebuilding business for over 23 years, starting at Centex Crosland in 1988. Dottie has been with Saussy Burbank for over 16 years. Along with Design Selections, Dottie is actively involved in the furnishing and staging of model homes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Georgia.
