After graduating from NC State University with a degree in Construction Engineering and Management, Joseph joined Saussy Burbank in 2013 as an Assistant Superintendent. He previously worked for Engineered Tower Solutions, where he climbed and mapped cell phone towers.
Andi joined the Saussy Burbank team at Riverwalk in 2015. A native of Columbia, SC, she holds a BA in English from UNC-Charlotte. She spent 13 years with US Airways as a flight attendant before joining Cambria Quartz as a sales rep.
Dan is the Director of Construction for our Raleigh market. Dan has 16 years of experience with NVR (Ryan Homes and NVHomes) where he worked as a Construction Manager, Sales Representative, Costing Manager and the last 10 years as a Production Manager. Prior to home building, he worked with both Staples and Amazon.com as a Distribution Supervisor. Dan has a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Delaware.
With a background in both general brokerage and new home sales for local and national builders, Luke has been well established in the real estate industry for over a decade. He is a Sales Consultant of the Raleigh division and located in the Briar Chapel community. Luke is a native Floridian and holds a Bachelor of Science in Photography from the University of Central Florida.
Since graduating college in 2006, Matt has worked for several other residential builders, a commercial general contractor as well as an emergency water design build start-up. At Saussy Burbank he has served as the Purchasing & Estimating Manager in Raleigh and is currently the division’s Project Manager. Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
With over 18 years of Purchasing, Estimating and IT experience, Judith joined the Raleigh division in 2016 as the Purchasing Manager. She has an extensive background with production builders that includes DR Horton and John Wieland/Pulte. Judith has been certified in the areas of construction management, construction estimating, general contractor, architectural drafting, advanced Excel and Excel for data analytics.
Anita Brandau is the Closing Coordinator at Saussy Burbank, and has been with the company since 2004. After receiving her AAS degree in Paralegal Studies, she began working for Shapiro & Miles, a Foreclosure and Bankruptcy attorney in San Diego, CA. Upon returning to her native Charlotte, Anita began working for J.A. Jones Construction Company. She then moved on to put her paralegal studies to use, working for several real estate attorneys throughout the Charlotte area. Anita also completed the educational classes for the NC Appraisal Board and currently holds a NC Real Estate Broker’s License.
Jim is responsible for project and product design with an eye toward the long term attractiveness and viability of each community. Jim has been engaged in the homebuilding industry for over 35 years, founding Saussy Burbank in 1989. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. An advocate for Affordable Housing, Jim is past board chairman of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Housing Partnership. He currently serves on the Town of Davidson Affordable Housing Taskforce and is on the board of the Housing Opportunity Foundation of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association.
Jason has served as a Field Manager for Saussy Burbank since joining the company twelve years ago. He currently works in our newest community, Riverwalk, in Rock Hill. Jason holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Lees McRae.
Shane Burt joined the company in March of 2013 as an estimator. He previously worked in estimating and as a Field Manager. Shane holds a BS in Finance from Elon University.
Julianne Chandler is Corporate Controller for Saussy Burbank and has been with the company since August, 2013. She is responsible for all areas of Accounting for the company as well as managing the IT function. After receiving her Bachelor degree in Accounting from Campbell University in 2003, Julianne started her accounting career in public accounting and later went on to work as a Senior Accountant for the country’s largest commercial roofing company. Julianne received her MBA in 2008 and she was hired as Senior Accounting Manager for a publicly traded energy company. During the three and a half years there, she was promoted to Business Unit Controller and promoted again to Corporate Controller.
Kim joined Saussy Burbank in the spring of 2011 as the lead Sales Consultant for Ardrey Crest. Since selling out the community, Kim has served as the Sales Consultant for our Charlotte infill projects. She works primarily in Dilworth and Myers Park, but also covers the South Charlotte, Plaza Midwood, South Park, and Cotswold areas. Before joining Saussy Burbank, Kim worked for Allen Tate and Bank of America. She is a graduate of Clemson University.
After graduating from Liberty University, Jamie began her career as a Certified Teller for BB&T, where she worked for two years. She then served as a Log Clerk for Ozark Motor Lines before joining Saussy Burbank in June of 2013. Jamie initially worked as the Charleston office’s Administrative Assistant, and now works in Accounts Payable.
Pam joined Saussy Burbank in April of 2012 as a Sales Consultant for Davidson Pointe and Skybrook. Despite being new to the real estate industry, Pam has worked in sales for most of her career. She has over 16 years of experience in local media sales with the Charlotte Observer and its affiliate publications. Pam holds a BS in Marketing from the University of South Florida.
Tommy is Saussy Burbank’s Vice President for New Product Development. He originally worked as a Purchasing & Estimating Manager when he joined the company seven years ago. Tommy is a Charlotte native and has 31 years of experience in the industry.
Jeff Cornatzer is Vice President for Construction at Saussy Burbank. He joined the company in the early 90’s, but worked for Saussy Construction before the merger in 1989. He earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Chowan College and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Advertising from Appalachian State University
Rich joined our Masons Bend sales team in late 2016 after serving as a Sales Assistant for Standard Pacific Homes in the Palisades. Prior to working in the real estate industry, Rich spent 25 years as a Territory Business Manager in pharmaceutical sales. Rich graduated from the University of Charleston (WV) with a degree in recreation.
Grant joined the Raleigh team in the summer of 2015, fresh out of college at NC State University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Prior to graduation, Grant worked for Chick-fil-A’s Raleigh Marketing Team, served as the Director of Marketing & Communications for NCSU’s Student Government, and interned for the YMCA as their Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Grant is Saussy Burbank’s Marketing Manager for the Raleigh division.
With over 22 years of various construction experience, Scott began working as a Field Manager in Holly Springs’ 12 Oaks in 2013. Before joining the company, he was a project/field manager for 10 years, an estimator for 2 years, a drafter for 1 year, and worked in construction for 9 years. Scott holds an AA in Architectural Drafting.
Sam joined the company in 2014 after graduating from Clemson Univeristy with a BS in Architecture with a minor in Management. Based in Charleston, Sam works closely with outside architects and the internal production department to develop plans and construction drawings.
With 16 years of experience in the construction industry at JW Homes, Leigh joined the Raleigh division in 2016 as the Administrative Assistant / AP. As a graduate of North Carolina State University in 1998, she has since accumulated a background in construction permitting, estimating, closings, and accounts payable. Leigh enjoys camping, spending time with her husband, two children, and dog, Lexi.
Peter joined Saussy Burbank in 2015. He received a BS and a Masters in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, MBA from the University of Houston and Master of Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Peter is a licensed NC General Contractor, a Certified Public Accountant, and member of the American Institute of CPAs and the North Carolina Association of CPAs. He spent three years as a tax accountant and 25 years in real estate development and construction at The Prudential Insurance Co., The Crosland Companies, and as owner of Colony Land Co.
Georganna has been the Purchasing & Estimating Assistant since she joined the company in 2002. Previously, she worked in the HR department for Crossmark Sales and Marketing, and as an Auto Travel Department Manager for State Motor Club. Georganna has an AAS degree in Commercial Art and Visual Merchandising from Central Piedmont Community College.
Currently serving as the Warranty Manager, Robert has been a Saussy Burbank employee since August of 1996. After graduating from York Technical College, Robert worked as a General Contractor.
A second-generation builder from Syracuse, New York, Joe Kirk joined the building business after leaving Army Intelligence in 1982, and has been a member of Saussy Burbank since 1993. In addition to building and closing over 1000 homes in his career, he has served as Construction Manager for both the Raleigh and Charlotte operations of Saussy Burbank. Since 2004, he has served as the Vice President and General Manager in the Charleston market. During his 30-year career, he has built nine homes that won Gold Medals in the local Parade of Homes, 7 more that won Silver Medals, and in 1998 built a home that won the Best in American Living Award as the best home in the nation in its category.
Rebecca began her career in the home building industry as a Purchasing & Estimating intern at Saussy Burbank. Upon graduating in the fall of 2014, she officially joined the company as a Purchasing & Estimating Analyst. Rebecca now serves as an Assistant Project Manager and Design Specialist in our our Raleigh market. Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Brant McConkey is the Marketing Director at Saussy Burbank and has been with the company since 2007. Brant holds a BA in Business Economics from Wofford College.
Al McNeill, Senior Vice President, has been with Saussy Burbank since 1992. Al is a native of eastern NC and has a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. He received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. A licensed NC Real Estate Broker and a licensed NC and SC General Contractor, he is a member of the Green Home Builders of the Triangle, Triangle Builders Guild, Charleston Builders Guild and CBUSA. Al is a member of the National Association of Home Builders and active in its local affiliates including the Charleston Trident HBA, the Raleigh Wake HBA and the Durham, Orange & Chatham County HBA, where Saussy Burbank was awarded its 2010 Builder of the Year.
Kelly originally worked for Saussy Burbank from 2006-2008 as a field manager, and rejoined the company in 2013 in the same position. He was previously a code inspector for the town of Summerville, SC, a realtor, and the co-owner of House Perfect, a construction company. Kelly attended college at Northwest in Mississippi and completed A&P mechanic school.
Sarah Staton joined Saussy Burbank in early 2014 as the Purchasing & Estimating Assistant in Raleigh. Within months, she was transferred to Charleston, where she now serves as the office’s Design Center Coordinator. Sarah Staton previously worked as a Development Assistant at Raleigh’s Beacon Street Development Company. She is a 2008 graduate of St. Mary’s School and a 2012 graduate of the University of South Carolina.
Dermot joined the company in 2007 as a Construction Manager, transitioned to Area Construction Manager in 2010, served as the Director of Custom Homes in Raleigh and is currently Director of Preconstruction Services. He was previously a project manager for Crosswinds Communities in Novi, Michigan. Dermot holds a Master Certified Green Professional Designation from NAHB, as well as a BS degree in Building Construction Management from Michigan State University. Dermot currently serves as the President of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties.
Troy is an assistant field manager in Baxter Village. He originally worked for the company from 2000-2007, and later rejoined in 2012. Troy’s past experience includes working as a Concrete Manager, an Energy Auditor, and a CSR Specialist. He graduated with a BSBA degree in Marketing from the University of South Carolina, and is a proud Gamecock fan.
Leslie joined the company in 2015 as a Sales Assistant and is currently the Contract/Closing Coordinator for the Raleigh Division. She has previously been a Group Sales Consultant for the Durham Bulls and an office administration intern for the Danville Braves and Princeton Rays. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in Law and Governance, as well as a Certificate in Policy Journalism and Media Studies from Duke University.
Ally is the Design Selections Coordinator for the Charlotte division. Before joining Saussy Burbank, she worked for South End Kitchens, Hans Krug Fine European Cabinetry, Daltile, and Ikea. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she also had a concentration in painting.
Joe Robinson is Vice President / General Manager of the Raleigh Division of Saussy. He joined the company in 1999 and has served in a wide-range of capacities in the Raleigh operation including project management, sales management, product development, construction management, purchasing, estimating, land acquisition, operations and general management. A native of Mt. Gilead, Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of Triangle Sales and Marketing Council and National Association of Home Builders.
Rob is a field manager in Saussy Burbank’s Riverwalk community in Rock Hill, SC. He has been with the company for 17 years and has a degree in Business Management from Wingate University.
A Saussy Burbank employee since 2001, Tracy is currently the Warranty and Construction Assistant. She holds degrees in both Business Management and Business from York Technical College. Before joining the Saussy Burbank team, she stayed busy as a stay-at-home mom to 5 girls.
Shem joined the company as an intern in 2012 while completing his BA in Civil Engineering at NC State. He joined the company full time upon graduating in 2014.
Molly joined Saussy Burbank in the summer of 2011 after graduating from Wofford College with a BA in Business Economics. She worked in sales for three years, rotating between the Charlotte-area communities and infill projects. In early 2014, Molly transitioned into Charlotte’s main office. While continuing to work for the company, she obtained her Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University in 2016.
Ellen has been working in construction for Saussy Burbank for 23 years. She currently serves as the Senior Field Manager for Charlotte’s northern communities. Ellen graduated from Pfeiffer College with a BS in Business Administration.
Eric is a Purchasing & Estimating Analyst at the Raleigh division. He has an extensive industry background from his experience at BMC, Apex Cabinet and Global Knowledge. When not cheering on the Denver Broncos, Eric is either playing disc golf or coaching soccer. Eric has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Appalachian State University.
Chris has eleven years of sales experience with Saussy Burbank, and became a full-time employee in 2011. He currently serves as a Sales Consultant in Chapel Hill’s Briar Chapel community. Chris is a native of North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University.
Amanda joined the Saussy Burbank team in 2017. Coming from a family of contractors, she grew up appreciating architecture and quality craftsmanship. After witnessing subpar construction quality during her time in general brokerage, Amanda decided to begin a career in new home sales with her builder of choice. Amanda is originally from Blair, Nebraska and enjoys painting and rock climbing. She has a BS in Psychology from Georgia Southern.
Charles E. Teal is CEO of Saussy Burbank, LLC and leads the company’s strategic direction, business development and new business pursuits. He has financed and structured hundreds of transactions during his more than 30 years of experience in the real estate development business. Previously, Charles was Chief Operating Officer at Pappas Properties, LLC developer of Phillips Place, Birkdale Village, Berewick, and Metropolitan. Prior to Pappas, Charles was Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President at Crosland, where he was primarily responsible for entity planning, capital structure, risk management and financial reporting. Charles is a Charlotte native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Charles is a Certified Public Account and is a member of North Carolina Association of CPA’s. Charles served for several years on the Advisory Board of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities (two as Chairman) and was a Director of BB&T Investment Services a subsidiary of BB&T. He is a past Chairman of the Charlotte District Council of the Urban Land Institute and is past Chair of the Gold Flight for the Community Development Council of the Urban Land Institute where he is a full member. Charles is also a member of the Industry Roundtable of the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Rita originally joined Saussy Burbank as a subcontractor in 1993, and was officially hired in mid-1994 as a purchasing and estimating coordinator. She was previously employed by General Electric as a Billing Supervisor and Accountant, and also served as a Realtor. Rita has a BA in Business from UNC—Charlotte, and is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and Contractor in North Carolina.
Michele began working as a Sales and Design Consultant for the Raleigh market in March of 2009. She has 16 years of new home sale experience, and 19 years in the building industry. In addition to a number of industry designations, she holds a BA in political science from North Carolina State University.
Nikki Vallini has served as Saussy Burbank’s Executive Assistant since 2001. Before joining the company, she was PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ Tax Department Executive Assistant. An Indian Trail native, she graduated from Sun Valley High School and then attended Central Piedmont Community College. Nikki has been a Notary Public since 1999, and has also been trained in Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access, and Access Pointe.
Thomasena joined the Saussy Burbank team in 1993. After 16 years of managing new home construction in various communities, she transferred to our Sales Department in 2009 serving as the sales consultant for Davidson Pointe and later Riverwalk in Rock Hill, SC. Thomasena started her career in the home building industry with John Crosland Company and later served as Sales/Closing Administrator with Ryland Homes. She studied Computer Science at York Technical College and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both North and South Carolina. Thomasena has been a Notary Public since 1990 and is a member of the York County Chamber of Commerce and the S.C. Arts Alliance.
After spending 15 years as a computer programmer in New York City, Glen moved to South Carolina to pursue his dream of selling new homes for a home builder. He joined Saussy Burbank in 2001 serving as a sales consultant in White Gables, Summerville SC. Since then he has been selling homes for Saussy Burbank in The Ponds and now Nexton. He studied Computer Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a licensed Real Estate agent in South Carolina.
Justin has been a Field Manager in our Charleston market since the fall of 2011. He previously worked as a Construction Superintendent for JCB Urban, from 2005-2011, and as an Assistant Superintendent for Wood Partners. Justin graduated in 2005 from Kent State University with a degree in Business Management and Technology.
Bob Zweier is President of Saussy Burbank. A native of northeastern Ohio, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University. Bob joined Saussy Burbank as Chief Financial Officer in 1997. A partner since 2007, he has served as the President and General Manager since 2004. Bob began his career as an analyst with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He served as Division Controller for the John Crosland Company and spent nine years as a financial executive in the textile industry prior to joining Saussy Burbank. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and a NC Real Estate Broker.
The construction foreman was knowledgeable and bent over backwards to make the construction phase a pleasant experience. The salesperson was very diligent and made sure everything went through smoothly. He made sure we were taken care of on our side as well. The craftsmanship was above our expectation.
