We use Guild Quality as a third party to survey the satisfaction of our homeowners during and after the home buying process. We are proud to have been honored with the Guildmaster Award, the organization’s highest honor for customer satisfaction, 13 times since 2011.
Jason has served as a Field Manager for Saussy Burbank since joining the company. He is currently overseeing construction in Cottages at Marvin Gardens, Nims Village and Cottages at Springfield Town Center. Jason holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Lees McRae.
Shane Burt joined the company in March of 2013 as an estimator. He previously worked in estimating and as a Field Manager. Shane holds a BS in Finance from Elon University.
Kim joined Saussy Burbank in the spring of 2011 as the lead Sales Consultant for Ardrey Crest. Since selling out the community, Kim has served as the Sales Consultant for our Charlotte infill projects including Myers Park, Dilworth, Elizabeth, SouthPark and Ashbrook. Before joining Saussy Burbank, Kim worked for Allen Tate and Bank of America. She is a graduate of Clemson University.
Jeff Cornatzer is Vice President for Construction at Saussy Burbank. He joined the company in the early 90’s, but worked for Saussy Construction before the merger in 1989. He earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Chowan College and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Advertising from Appalachian State University
Sam joined the company in 2014 after graduating from Clemson Univeristy with a BS in Architecture with a minor in Management. Based in Charleston, Sam works closely with outside architects and the internal production department to develop plans and construction drawings.
Peter joined Saussy Burbank in 2015. He received a BS and a Masters in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, MBA from the University of Houston and Master of Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Peter is a licensed NC General Contractor, a Certified Public Accountant, and member of the American Institute of CPAs and the North Carolina Association of CPAs. He spent three years as a tax accountant and 25 years in real estate development and construction at The Prudential Insurance Co., The Crosland Companies, and as owner of Colony Land Co.
Currently serving as the Warranty Manager, Robert has been a Saussy Burbank employee since August of 1996. After graduating from York Technical College, Robert worked as a General Contractor.
A second-generation builder from Syracuse, New York, Joe Kirk joined the building business after leaving Army Intelligence in 1982, and has been a member of Saussy Burbank since 1993. In addition to building and closing over 1000 homes in his career, he has served as Construction Manager for both the Raleigh and Charlotte operations of Saussy Burbank. Since 2004, he has served as the Vice President and General Manager in the Charleston market. During his 30-year career, he has built nine homes that won Gold Medals in the local Parade of Homes, 7 more that won Silver Medals, and in 1998 built a home that won the Best in American Living Award as the best home in the nation in its category.
After working for Saussy Burbank from 2015-2020, Mike rejoined the company in 2021 as the General Manager and Senior Vice President. He was promoted to President in January 2023.
A graduate of Appalachian State University, Mike began working in the homebuilding industry in 2001. Mike is a licensed General Contractor in North and South Carolina, and a Realtor in South Carolina.
Kelly originally worked for Saussy Burbank from 2006-2008 as a field manager, and rejoined the company in 2013 in the same position. He was previously a code inspector for the town of Summerville, SC, a realtor, and the co-owner of House Perfect, a construction company. Kelly attended college at Northwest in Mississippi and completed A&P mechanic school.
Originally from Virginia, Mallory moved to Charlotte in 2020 and quickly embraced the vibrant lifestyle this city offers. Before joining Saussy Burbank, she spent four years working in property management and is excited to have joined this side of the real estate industry.
Mallory’s dog, Mia, is her constant companion, and they love exploring all of the green spaces around town. When not indulging in her favorite sushi or savoring Asian and Hispanic cuisines, you’ll likely find Mallory spending a perfect day out on the lake with her family.
Troy is a field manager in Cottages at Marvin Gardens and Cottages at Springfield Town Center. He worked for the company from 2000-2007, and later rejoined in 2012. Troy’s past experience includes working as a Concrete Manager, an Energy Auditor, and a CSR Specialist. He graduated with a BSBA degree in Marketing from the University of South Carolina, and is a proud Gamecock fan.
Rob is a field manager in Saussy Burbank’s newest community in Myrtle Beach, SayeBrook. He has a degree in Business Management from Wingate University.
A Saussy Burbank employee since 2001, Tracy is currently the Warranty and Construction Assistant. She holds degrees in both Business Management and Business from York Technical College. Before joining the Saussy Burbank team, she stayed busy as a stay-at-home mom to 5 girls.
Shem joined the company as an intern in 2012 while completing his BA in Civil Engineering at NC State. He joined the company full time upon graduating in 2014.
As Director of Marketing and Sales Operations, Molly is a liaison between our sales, design, purchasing and estimating divisions. In addition to overseeing the company’s marketing efforts, she is responsible for option pricing and serves as our company’s Broker-in-Charge for North and South Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Wofford College, and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
Ellen has been working in construction for Saussy Burbank since February of 1990. She currently serves as the Senior Field Manager for infill projects, Glenn Abbey townhomes and Cottages on Rama Road. Ellen graduated from Pfeiffer College with a BS in Business Administration.
Charles E. Teal is CEO of Saussy Burbank, LLC and leads the company’s strategic direction, business development and new business pursuits. He has financed and structured hundreds of transactions during his more than 30 years of experience in the real estate development business. Previously, Charles was Chief Operating Officer at Pappas Properties, LLC developer of Phillips Place, Birkdale Village, Berewick, and Metropolitan. Prior to Pappas, Charles was Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President at Crosland, where he was primarily responsible for entity planning, capital structure, risk management and financial reporting. Charles is a Charlotte native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Charles served for several years on the Advisory Board of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities (two as Chairman) and was a Director of BB&T Investment Services a subsidiary of BB&T. He is a past Chairman of the Charlotte District Council of the Urban Land Institute and is past Chair of the Gold Flight for the Community Development Council of the Urban Land Institute where he is a full member. Charles is also a past member of the Industry Roundtable of the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Nikki Vallini has served as Saussy Burbank’s Executive Assistant since 2001. Before joining the company, she was PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ Tax Department Executive Assistant. An Indian Trail native, she graduated from Sun Valley High School and then attended Central Piedmont Community College. Nikki has been a Notary Public since 1999, and has also been trained in Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access, and Access Pointe.
Thomasena joined the Saussy Burbank team in 1993. After 16 years of managing new home construction in various communities, she transferred to our Sales Department in 2009 serving as the sales consultant for Davidson Pointe and later Riverwalk in Rock Hill, SC and Cottages at Marvin Gardens in Marvin, NC. Thomasena started her career in the home building industry with John Crosland Company and later served as Sales/Closing Administrator with Ryland Homes. She studied Computer Science at York Technical College and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both North and South Carolina. Thomasena has been a Notary Public since 1990 and is a member of the York County Chamber of Commerce and the S.C. Arts Alliance.
Megan is the Design Selections Coordinator for the Charleston division. She has been in the home and design industry for several years, gaining experience in many different aspects of home building. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in photography from UNC Asheville, Megan worked as a photographer for Walt Disney World for three years.
Justin has been a Field Manager in our Charleston market since the fall of 2011. He previously worked as a Construction Superintendent for JCB Urban, from 2005-2011, and as an Assistant Superintendent for Wood Partners. Justin graduated in 2005 from Kent State University with a degree in Business Management and Technology.
The construction foreman was knowledgeable and bent over backwards to make the construction phase a pleasant experience. The salesperson was very diligent and made sure everything went through smoothly. He made sure we were taken care of on our side as well. The craftsmanship was above our expectation.
