CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 23, 2018) – New home builder, Saussy Burbank, returned from the annual International Builder Show in Orlando with a Best in American Living™ Award (BALA). The company won the gold award for Interior Design–Kitchen, Production in its Riverwalk (Rock Hill, SC) model, The Huntington.
“The BALA award is one of our industry’s highest honors,” said Bob Zweier, President of Saussy Burbank. “We are again honored to win our fourth BALA award in five years and to be recognized for our focus on craftsmanship and design.”
The 2,704-square-foot, two-story Huntington model is an open floor plan with four bedrooms and three full baths. Designed in partnership with Charlotte-based 505 Design Group, the architectural style is a “raised river cottage” and it welcomes visitors with a low-slung front porch, bracketed eaves and details at every scale.
The open kitchen, breakfast and family rooms are wrapped with windows, flooding the space with natural light. Classic white cabinets stacked to the ceiling with honed black granite and carrara marble convey the traditional nature of the home. Using polished nickel details and contrasting the finish of the ceiling pendants and the range hood add an unexpected element that is sophisticated and flows with the overall aesthetic of the home itself.
The model was decorated by award-winning Fort Mill designer Susan Hill, ASID, IDS, NCIDQ. Local Rock Hill artist, Harriet Goode, curated the artwork in the house with a combination of her personal work, pieces from her private collection and works from other local and nationally acclaimed artists.
